GET-India 2015 at Pragati Maidan amongst 200 foreign buyers

The travel industry is set to get a new truly global travel exhibition in the capital. Although a little early, but this show that is being handled by the stakeholders in travel industry itself has potential to dispense away with the need to religiously look at trade shows abroad, especially for medium and small players.

Announcing the details of the Global Exhibition on Travel in India (GET-India), Sr. Vice President of IATO and Vice President FAITH, Sarab Jit Singh, said, “The first edition of Get-India 201 will be organized at Pragati Maidan from 23-25 April 2015. An initiative of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Tourism, the said exhibition will be handled by a team of our representatives.”

“There will be over 200 quality hosted foreign buyers and 100 exhibitors from across the different value chains of our travel industry,” he added.

IATO urges government to extend the electronic travel authorisation facility to 100 countries

In light of a strong response to the newly launched Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA), The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) ushered in 2015 urging the government to expand the said facility to over 100 countries from 43 countries at present.

“The online ETA applications have crossed 26,000 mark in a short duration since its launch on 27 November 2014. However, we are of the opinion that the results will be even better once the said facility is further made available to atleast 100 countries,” said IATO President Subhash Goyal.

“We know that the present government has been pro-tourism since its inception in May 2014 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We are willing to contribute our bit and are committed to doubling the inbound market in next 3-4 years. All our members now should strive to double their business, so that our collective vision of realizing the true potential of our incredible India destination is realized and benefits of growth are spread to even the remotes corner,” he added.

 



The IATO's First luncheon meet in 2015 also gave its members an opportunity to bid farewell to Parvez Dewan and welcome the Lalit K Panwar in presence of the officials of MOT and also MHA.
